BLS certificate

Able to stand for hours at a time

Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Requirement of Employment: COVID-19 Vaccination before hire

Prefer:

Experience with LTC

Experience with PCC and eMAR

Excellent communication skills and customer service skills

Tasks for this position include, but not limited to:

Able to work day shift 0600 to 1800

Safely administer medications

Perform assessments on patients for charting and when notify MD/CNP

Work with CNAs to provide good quality care to all residents

Entering orders in PCC and carrying out MD/CNP orders

Able to perform standard nursing care as learned in nursing school

Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician. Develop & maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift. Receive/give the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Assist in all aspects of a resident’s daily life, including activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement. Appropriately communicate with clinical leadership when a resident’s needs change. Know how to approach and care for residents with dementia. Qualifications: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current unencumbered state license. Must be knowledgeable of nursing & medical practices & procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities. Experience in Long Term Care is preferred. Willing to take additional training or education, which specific states may require. CPR and First Aid certifications are required. Ability to be flexible and adaptable while handling multiple priorities. Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication. Competent in organizational and time management skills. Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
