Certified Medication Aide Qualifications & Responsibilities:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have an active Certified Medication Aide Certification
Previous long term care experience is preferred but not required
Administer residents’ medication according to their physician’s orders
Supervise residents who self-administer medication
Report any noted changes in resident’s physical or mental condition to Nursing staff
Ability to work independently or part of a group
Perform all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines
Other duties as assigned by Unit Manager, Director of Nursing, or Administrator

Certified Medication Aide Schedule & Benefits:

Earn $19.00–$21.50/hour (based on experience) — with opportunities to increase your rate through waived benefits (+$2/hour) and shift differentials.
Schedule: Per diem, 3-11p OR every other weekend 11-7a

The Certified Medication Aide / Med Tech will administer medications to residents and observe, record, and report, medication interactions or side effects. Will also a ssist residents with activities of daily living such as grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, bathing/showering, eating, etc. You may be required to respond to emergency calls and situations, and document/report care provided. Familiarity with Alzheimer's/Dementia, and a willingness to work with the elderly population is essential for this role. Offer comfort and support, emotionally and physically. Respond to emergency calls, resident/visitor’s requests and correct environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate and safe manner. Observe community policies and procedures regarding resident and team member safety, attendance, timeliness, house rules, teamwork, and resident service. Maintain professionalism and resident confidentiality at all times.
