OR JOB SUMMARY The Medical Assistant Apprentice works under the direction of a Medical Assistant mentor for on-the-job training to provide basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant - Apprentice performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Minimum Required: Enrollment in ICATAP MA Apprenticeship Program Preferred/Optional: Completion of a Medical Terminology course. Graduate of a vocational technical Health Unit Coordinator Program, Medical Office Specialist, or Medical Secretary. EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Keyboard, computer, and telephone proficiency. Preferred/Optional: Six months’ previous experience with MCHS or related entity. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
