The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) is responsible for leading the shift operations within the clinical setting to ensure delivery of high-quality  are, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow. In conjunction with the Department Nursing Operations Manager and the Assistant Nursing Operations Manager (ANOM); the CANM provides guidance, fosters collaboration, and is responsible for the unit’s clinical operations including patient care assignments, customer experience, productivity, and quality outcomes in settings where an acute care patient receives active treatment for an injury, episode of illness, a medical condition, or post intervention with assessment.

Responsibilities

Education/Training

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certification in area of expertise; preferred.
  • May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse; acute care setting preferred.

Labor And Delivery Unit The Labor and Delivery Unit (6JPP) is a 15-bed unit with a variety of labor, triage, and recovery rooms in addition to 2 operating rooms and 1 procedure room. This unit serves patients with low and high-risk pregnancies alike, providing care for those with pre-eclampsia, preterm labor, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, bleeding concerns, and fetal disease among other conditions. Both medicated and unmedicated labor is supported through a variety of techniques with obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, and family practice physicians performing deliveries.
