Baptist MD Anderson is seeking a dedicated Oncology Quality Specialist to join our team at our BMDA Downtown Campus. This is an on-site position, working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. This pivotal role supports patient safety and quality improvement efforts across the oncology continuum of care. As an Oncology Quality and Compliance Nurse, your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting patient safety initiatives and quality improvement across the oncology continuum of care.

  • Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards including CoC, NAPBC, NAPRC, APEx, and FACT.

  • Collaborating with the Cancer Center Quality and Safety Officer to conduct real-time incident tracking, lead safety huddles, and contribute to root cause analyses.

  • Driving performance improvement through the monitoring of key hospital-based outcome metrics such as infection rates, readmissions, and treatment-related complications.

  • Validating and submitting quality metrics in alignment with MD Anderson Cancer Center standards, with expected growth in reporting scope.

  • Supporting transplant and cellular therapy programs by ensuring adherence to FACT standards related to documentation, consent, product handling, and toxicity monitoring.

  • Engaging in system-level safety and compliance initiatives in partnership with Risk Management, Infection Prevention, and Accreditation teams.

  • Contributing to accreditation survey readiness, staff education, and reduction of care variability.

  • Participating in ongoing quality education using the NAHQ’s 8 Domains of Competency.
