Duties: - Provide direct in-home care and support to individuals with disabilities, dementia, or other special needs - Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting - Prepare meals and assist with meals as needed - Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing - Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities - Follow care plans and ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times Skills: - Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia - Knowledge of ADLs and ability to assist clients with personal care tasks - Familiarity with client rights and the importance of maintaining confidentiality - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals - Ability to provide patient-centered care and adapt to the unique needs of each individual - Knowledge of in-home care systems and procedures - Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per individualized care plan. Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration as instructed. Report changes or concerns to the RN. Assist with light housekeeping duties. Document services performed on computerized charting system. Assist residents with prescribed program activities. Observe resident and report any changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, reaction, and appetite, to the supervisor. Light housekeeping Assist the resident with personal care which may include the following: shampooing of hair, assist with showering/ bathing, fingernail and foot care, and medication administration. Perform additional tasks as needed. Caregiver Qualifications: Needs to have at least 1 year of experience as a Caregiver (Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Attendant (PCA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)) Experience with medication passing is preferred. We are willing to train the right candidate on medication administration. A passion for geriatric care. Strong interpersonal and social skills are vital. Good customer service instincts will be important in interacting with family members and visitors. Excellent customer service skills. Availability for both weekday and weekend coverage. Reliable transportation and ability to respond to last-minute requests.
