Job Summary and Qualifications

As a highly-skilled and compassionate Cath-Lab Nurse you will provide assistance with all invasive cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures. You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care. You will be part of a team that pulls together to provide a quality patient care experience. We are seeking passionate individuals who are ready to take their career to the next level!

In this role:

You will be responsible for all testing and therapeutics that takes place in the cath lab. These procedures include but are not limited to: cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker procedures, tilt-table procedures, angioplasty, stent procedures, dialysis catheter procedures, nephrostomy and ureteral tube procedures, IVC filter procedures, IABP, pericardiocentesis procedures, and stress testing procedures.
You will facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. Uses appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.
You will assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following removal of catheter or sheath, and return to room. Manages emergent cases.
You will maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records. Completes all paperwork associated with these procedures and prepares tests for physician interpretation.
You will demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations.
You will collaborate with fellow members of the team and orient as needed.

Qualifications:

Current nursing license in good standing
Associate’s Degree in nursing required, bachelor’s preferred
Two to three years of Cath Lab experience required.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within six months of hire
Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support or obtain within 90 days of date of hire.
Ability to share some call requirement
At least a year of Cath Lab or Critical Care experience required

Job Summary and Qualifications Position Details: Self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for you to have predictability in your schedule Culture of mutual respect and collaboration among all surgical staff Continuous investment in equipment including surgical instruments, devices and patient positioning for you to do your best work with patient safety and workflow efficiency in the Operating Room Rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your voice is heard on suggestions for patient care and surgical workflow improvement On-call is required during select non-business hours What you will do in this role: Evaluate patients prior to surgery Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy Recognize and respond to patient emergencies Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures What qualifications you will need: Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date (RN) Registered Nurse must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree Previous Endoscopy experience strongly preferred; experience with higher acuity patients or surgical services required Welcome to Lone Peak Hospital, the perfect place for all your healthcare needs.
