Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care while supporting medical providers and licensed nurses.
  • Answer incoming calls, manage InBasket messages, and greet patients with a warm, professional approach using AIDET communication.
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, manage the waitlist, and coordinate referrals to specialty care and ancillary services.
  • Assist with obtaining necessary authorizations, insurance approvals, and coordinating with the DME Team and providers for patient services.
  • Support the clinical team by preparing lab requests, facilitating specialty appointment scheduling, and documenting patient interactions.
  • Transport patients, supplies, and laboratory specimens safely across departments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient observations and report findings to providers and licensed nurses.
  • Ensure assigned work areas are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.

What You’ll Bring:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program is a must.
  • Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is preferred.
  • Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
  • 1+ year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a doctor’s office or ambulatory care environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills, with an ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Ability to adapt care methods to meet the specific needs of diverse patient populations, including age-specific and cultural considerations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a clinical support role within a healthcare system.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, patient care processes, and administrative tasks such as scheduling and referral management.
