Position reports to Administrator/ Care Advisor

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years prior experience providing direct supervision and special services to persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must maintain current certification of CPR and First Aid.
  • Valid TB Clearance.
  • Able and willing to cook, clean, and assist clients with daily living skills.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English for communication with clients.
  • Able and willing to obtain fingerprint clearance from D.O.J./F.B.I. prior to working with the clients. Background clearance for Home Care Aide registry-state of California
  • Must be familiar in working with clients with developmental disability.
  • Personality needed: Need someone who takes initiative to complete tasks without being told, proactive, socialize, positive energy to uplift client emotional needs, organized, structured, and professional at all times

Duty Statement

Responsibility to:

  • Ensure the health and safety of the clients residing in the home.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Administrator regarding any client and issues.
  • Ensure that CPR, First Aid and any other certification is current.
  • Participate, if requested, team meetings and any others necessary to meet clients needs.
  • Complete documentation on client progress through EVV notes and other measurement tools.
  • Ensure reports and documents that have timeframes, SIR’s, reports, etc. are met.
  • Ensure implementation of plan of care tasks, companionship,  monitoring mobility/fall prevention, bathing/grooming, assistance on toileting, help with eating, menu preparation, client activities, house cleaning, laundry, cooking, personal care, shopping, transportation, activities of daily living and any training to meet clients need.
  • Provide transportation to outings, personal shopping, doctor related appointments and activities.
  • Implement Universal Precautions and Hand washing Techniques.

Job Types: Per-Diem, Part-time, Temporary Assignments

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4-8 hour shifts after school and/or weekends

Experience:

  • Caregiving: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Regional Center / IHSS experience a plus!

License/Certification:

  • Valid Home Care Aide Registry through State of California
