Responsibilities

Provide care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within scope of license.

  • Contribute to the assessment of patients and assure the well-being of patients. 
  • Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
  • Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
  • Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program permit (GVN) obtained prior to start date or job transfer date is required-OR-Temporary or Current Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) license to practice in the state of Texas is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date-OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

  • LVN experience preferred
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred or medical back ground
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
