  • Circulating Nurse Duties:

    • Prepares the OR for procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available.

    • Monitors patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.

    • Documents intraoperative care and communicates with the surgical team.

  • Scrub Nurse Duties (if applicable):

    • Assists the surgeon directly by handling instruments and maintaining a sterile field.

  • Pre- and Post-Operative Care:

    • Participates in patient admission and discharge processes.

    • Provides education and emotional support to patients and families.

  • Clinical Excellence:

    • Demonstrates competence in managing patients with complex surgical needs.

    • Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and unit goals.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

    • Participates in staff training and continuing education

Work Environment

  • Schedule:  Monday–Friday, daytime hours.

  • Setting: Outpatient, same-day surgery center.

  • Specialties: May include ENT, general surgery, podiatry, pain management, colorectal, and urology.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license.

  • Minimum of one year of OR experience; ASC experience preferred.

  • BLS/ACLS certification.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
