Job Purpose

The Wound Care NP/PA provides direct patient care under the supervision of a wound care physician. This role is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic wounds, performing wound-related procedures, and educating patients and families. The NP/PA ensures compliance with state scope of practice laws, organizational policies, and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations focused on wound care.

  • Perform wound-related procedures, including debridement, dressing selection/application, and use of advanced wound care therapies.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies related to wound care.

  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with supervising physician.

  • Provide patient and caregiver education regarding wound care and prevention.

  • Accurately document clinical encounters in the EMR in accordance with coding and compliance standards.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team conferences.

  • Maintain professional development, certification, and continuing education requirements.

  • Adhere to organizational policies, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Current NP or PA license in [State] with prescriptive authority.

  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA).

  • Wound care certification (CWCN, CWS, or equivalent) preferred.

  • 2+ years of relevant clinical experience preferred (primary care, surgery, emergency, wound care).

Performs comprehensive health assessments for the purpose of diagnosing and treating individuals. Formulates appropriate differential diagnosis, develop treatment plan to include appropriate diagnostics; identifies non-pharmacological interventions, appropriate pharmacological agents and education. This practice is located in Frackville PA. At this practice there is 1 Physician and 1 CRNP. The practice is open M-F 8a-5p with call being rotated with clinicians in the region. Patient slot durations consist of 40 minutes for new patients, wellness/preventative, TOC, and medical clearance and 20 minutes for return patients and acute visits. Full time is considered 36 patient facing hours with part time being considered.
