A Day in The Life of a Caregiver …

Caregiver are the main support providers to our residents. The position provides assistance to residents in the Assisted Living and/or Memory Care Program(s) with their activities of daily living, implementation of resident plans of care, documentation of nursing services and enabling residents to lead a quality life while maintaining their dignity. The position will enhance the lives of older adults by assisting them with patience and a friendly smile all while embracing teamwork and collaboration among all staff.

On a Given Day, our Caregivers will spend time:

Aiding as needed with medication reminders (as applicable), bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
Following the schedule of resident’s needs set out by supervisor.
Providing emotional and social support to residents.
Document daily assistance provided per protocol.
Inform supervisor of any resident issues or concerns.
Respect residents’ confidentiality and encourage the independence and dignity of the residents.
Be familiar with emergency equipment and procedures.
Keep up to date with all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
Must be able to lift/carry up to 80lbs.
Frequent standing and walking required.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
