A Day in The Life of a Caregiver …
Caregiver are the main support providers to our residents. The position provides assistance to residents in the Assisted Living and/or Memory Care Program(s) with their activities of daily living, implementation of resident plans of care, documentation of nursing services and enabling residents to lead a quality life while maintaining their dignity. The position will enhance the lives of older adults by assisting them with patience and a friendly smile all while embracing teamwork and collaboration among all staff.
On a Given Day, our Caregivers will spend time:
- Aiding as needed with medication reminders (as applicable), bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
- Following the schedule of resident’s needs set out by supervisor.
- Providing emotional and social support to residents.
- Document daily assistance provided per protocol.
- Inform supervisor of any resident issues or concerns.
- Respect residents’ confidentiality and encourage the independence and dignity of the residents.
- Be familiar with emergency equipment and procedures.
- Keep up to date with all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 80lbs.
- Frequent standing and walking required.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
