A6 is a 27-bed fast paced unit. We provide care for cardiac patients who have undergone a cardiac intervention from the cath lab which includes stent placement, pacemaker placement, and diagnostic angiograms. We also care for the patients who have chosen to undergo Watchman and Mitraclip procedures. We manage patients with congestive heart failure, NSTEMI, STEMI, pre-CABG, and peripheral vascular occlusions. We do have patients with cardiac drips and also take medical-surgical overflow patients from the ER. We have a strong working relationship with our cardiologists and hospitalists.
