Student Nurse Apprentice Intermediate Care Unit (ICCU) PRN Days Job Summary:

The Student Nurse Apprentice (SNA) serves as a member of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, observing and collaborating with the Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The SNA is supervised for the management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures. The SNA will document and provide assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED, required.  Rising Sophomore in a baccalaureate program or in last year of nursing school, required.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: NAI registry as a NAI in good standing is required. Current NAII certified with state Board of Nursing is preferred. 
  • Other Qualifications:  Completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Course, and Semester of Clinicals, required.
  • Additional skills preferred: Basic computer skills for documentation.
