Position Overview:
The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for performing clinical and administrative duties in an occupational health setting, specializing in drug and alcohol testing. Key responsibilities include specimen collection (urine, saliva, and hair), venipuncture, breath alcohol testing, and maintaining compliance with DOT and non-DOT testing protocols. This role also involves patient intake, documentation, and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of test results. Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and excellent customer service skills are essential.

Education Qualifications:
- Required: High School graduate or Equivalent
Certification Qualifications:
- Required: Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants
- Required: Current Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross BLS) certification
- Required: Certificate or proof of a program of instruction in phlebotomy and administering injections
- Required: Certified Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) and Certified Professional Collector (CPC DATIA preferred
- Required: If not currently certified in drug testing, must become certified within 45 days of hire
Experience Qualifications:
- Computer and telephone skills required
- Able to demonstrate effective operation of the department specific equipment (breath Alcohol collection device)
- Verbalize understanding of filing systems, document organization and handling data.

Pay Range:
- The pay range for this position is $16.20 - 26.24 per hour.
