Position Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Clinical Nurse Manager or Designee

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides nursing care to patients within scope of professional practice and license. Administers medications and treatments. Observes and reports any unusual happenings to Registered Nurse or Physician.  

Starting Job Rate $26.81/hour; after probation $29.79/hour.

The posted wage is in accordance with the respective collective bargaining agreement.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 Certification/Licensure:

  • Current State of Hawaii LPN licensure.  
  • Current BLS certification 
  • Annual completion of CPR and competencies requirements.
  • Successful completion of the medication test within 3 weeks of the start of orientation.

 Education:

  • Completion of a program for licensed practical nursing, or its equivalent.

 Skills/Experience:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with standard hospital procedures.
  • Ability to safely and effectively manage patients’ mobility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 Skills/Experience:

  • One (1) year acute, rehab and/or home health care experience as a LPN.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS USED

Nursing supplies and equipment. Records and forms. Automated system for documentation and other related patient care activities.
