The Position: We're looking for passionate Registered Nurses to help us train new graduate nurses in providing professional nursing care to residents following established policies and procedures of the facility. Teaches, supports, counsels, monitors, evaluates, and serves as a role model for new and prospective Clinical team members and clinical students. Utilizes appropriate teaching methods to facilitate assigned students, prospective team members, and new team members (designated as "preceptees") to apply theory to practice, meet the essential functions of a nurse role, and meet identified learning objectives. Administers medications/treatments as ordered by the physician and according to policy and procedures. Conducts accurate physical assessments of residents, determines their needs and implements appropriate interventions to meet those needs. Performs assessments on admission, transfer and/or discharges. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawaii required. One year experience with OPH preferred. Experience in geriatrics and current nursing standards of practice preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviation required. First Aid and CPR preferred (can be done in-house).
