Provide public health nursing services to the community. Develops programs in cooperation with the local Health Officer and the Director of Community Health to meet the standards established by the New Jersey State Department of Health.
What You Will Do
- Coordinates the activities of the Child Health Conference, including scheduling, staffing, supplies and equipment. Makes staff assignments based on patient needs and competency of staff. Manages a case load when activity indicates.
- Reports required statistics to the state Department of Health and facilitates state audits.
- Conducts or provides follow up supervision for chart reviews to assure accurate documentation and intervention in areas of growth and development, patient and family education, immunizations and other issues.
- Follows up on all communicable diseases reported in local residents. Completes required documentation and forwards to local and state health departments.
- Conducts annual audits of local nursery schools and public schools for vaccine regulation compliance. Functions as a resource for school nurses regarding current vaccine requirements.
- Coordinates participation in activities for local Senior centers, including education, hypertension screening, counseling and evaluation of existing and potential problems. Makes referrals as necessary.
- Coordinates annual community flu clinics with local health officer
- Prepares monthly billing statements for services provided to the township(s) and forwards to Finance
- Demonstrates budget accountability regarding staffing and resource utilization when staffing the Child Health Conference, immunization clinics and health fairs.
- Schedules hypertension screenings for local residents.
- NJ Registered Nurse with a BSN required
- Two to five years of related clinical experience in public health or community setting. required
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and teaching skills, bilingual Korean speaking preferred.
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred
