The Director Nursing is accountable for leading, managing, and directing the overall operations of the respective service line across the continuum of care and facilitates the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of the service line to ensure the provision of services are being provided in a cost and market competitive manner. Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Director Nursing include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervises and directs performance of all services, inpatient and outpatient, and provides timely feedback to the executive team
  • Evaluates and maximizes financial performance with focus on opportunities for growth, new services and program development
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory agency requirements
  • Champions the ongoing design, redesign and improvement of operational processes to enhance success
  • Designs and utilizes data collection processes to demonstrate cost, quality and customer satisfaction outcomes
  • Actively promotes collaborative nurse, physician and ancillary department relationships
  • Ensures assigned department(s) staff are managed effectively, including hiring, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions

Jim Thorpe Rehab Hospital Services Only:

  • Responsible for oversight of all Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation nursing units, preadmission assessment, precertification, and admission/bed placement process.

Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President Patient Care Services or Hospital President.

Jim Thorpe Rehab Hospital Services Only: Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President Patient Care Services or Vice President Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Services.

NZTI Only: Reports to the VP of NZTI/ACC.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in nursing, business, or health related field required
  • BSN required if Masters degree is not in Nursing. (For RN Administrative Directors of Nursing Units only.)
  • 5 years experience preferred, 2 years experience required in a management role
  • Clinical experience with accountability for the performance of a spectrum of ambulatory and facility based preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)

IBMC, ISMC, ICVRH, IHE Only:

  • Masters in nursing, business or other healthcare related field required.

IHBMC Perioperative Services Only:

  • 5-10 years’ operating room experience
  • Responsible for leading teams across multiple campuses
  • Responsible for leading teams across all areas within perioperative services to include Operating Rooms, Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, SAU, PACU and PAT.
  • CNOR certified within 6 months of hire/promotion.
  • Masters in nursing, business or other healthcare related field required, or completion within 18 months of hire.
  • 5-1Jim Thorpe Rehab Hospital Services Only:
  • National certification for Rehab nursing, CRRN, preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Oklahoma.

NZTI Only:

  • Transplant experience preferred.

ICP Only:

  • Bachelors degree in nursing, business, or health related field Masters degree preferred.
  • Cardiology or Imaging experience preferred
