JOB SUMMARY

The LPN - Rotate - Med/Surg/Peds is a Licensed Practical Nurse who performs nursing care procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse. They may also function as an assistant to a qualified Registered Nurse in more complex nursing situations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing with current Michigan license.

Preferred/Optional: None

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES 

Minimum Required: Has a knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing as an LPN. Demonstrates excellence in customer service and professional conduct. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to relate effectively/kindly to patients and families.

Personal qualities of kindness, empathy, loyalty, sense of humor, and ability to relate effectively to patients, families and staff. Knowledge/use of proper channels of communication. Maintains professionalism in the community, maintains patient confidentiality and serves as patient advocate at all times. Is able to work collaboratively and cooperatively with team members. Provision of nursing care.

Preferred/Optional: Recent medical, surgical, pediatric experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Current Michigan LPN license. BCLS certification current or within 30 days of hire required. Score of 80% or higher on annual medication test.
