Position Summary:

Boulder City Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Technician to join our Surgical Services Department. This position assists surgeons and physicians during operative, invasive, and GI procedures while ensuring a sterile, safe, and well-organized environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist surgeons during operative, invasive, and endoscopic procedures.
Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Follow strict principles of aseptic technique and surgical protocols.
Ensure proper sterilization and care of instruments and equipment.
Observe safety procedures in all patient care and clinical activities.
Support the surgical team as an active, collaborative team member.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
Current BLS certification (must be renewed every 2 years).
Minimum 1 year of operating room experience preferred.
Familiarity with decontamination, sterile processing, instrumentation, and GI procedures.
Basic computer literacy required.

Schedule:

Per diem shifts available – flexibility required (may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays).

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rate.

Job Summary and Qualifications Position Summary: The Certified Surgical Technologist delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing various functions to support the efficient operation of the surgical suite. Under the supervision of the Circulating RN, the Certified Surgical Technologist prepares the surgical suite, positions and prepares the patient, and provides instruments, equipment, and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure. The Certified Surgical Technologist ensures a sterile field, proper instrument counts, and proper operation of instruments and equipment. The Certified Surgical Technologist participates in patient-specific care as directed and follows service excellence standards to promote optimum patient satisfaction. Major Responsibilities: Organizes the operating suite with instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for the day. Reviews daily cases to ensure adequate stocking. Ensures proper functioning of equipment/instruments prior to procedures. Creates and maintains an orderly sterile instrument table. Utilizes physician preference cards for efficient setup. Prepares for emergency and add on cases rapidly and effectively. Transports patients to and from surgical suite as needed. Assists in the transfer, positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for surgical procedures in accordance with hospital standards.
