The Surgical Technologist, in collaboration with the surgical team and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assumes responsibility for the care and safety of the perioperative patient, instrumentation, supplies, and equipment during surgical and other invasive and non-invasive procedures. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Has basic knowledge of instrumentation. Prepare and set up medical supplies and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Demonstrates correct and safe instrumentation passing and assists provider in a safe and accurate manner Maintains technical skills for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to include obtaining specimens, attaching vital sign equipment, and positioning the patient. Clean and dress stretchers in preparation for next patient. Clean procedure rooms, including procedural tables, countertops, floor mats and wall suction systems. JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
