Key Responsibilities

  • Perform annual wellness exams, preventive screenings, and Medicare visits
  • Diagnose and manage acute conditions and minor injuries
  • Provide chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, COPD, etc.)
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging
  • Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle practices
  • Maintain accurate EHR documentation with synchronous scribe support

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Arizona NP or PA license
  • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
  • Credentialing eligibility with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers
  • No history of malpractice or disciplinary action
  • Graduate of an accredited U.S.-based NP or PA program

Overview The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides care to the patients admitted by the medical staff with the collaboration of the Medical Director of the Newborn Services. S/he performs procedures that are within the advanced scope of neonatal nurse practice. S/he seeks assistance and support when necessary, assists in data collection, organizes those aspects of patient care for which s/he is responsible and maintains accountability for own practice and those functions s/he delegates. As a provider, s/he plans, implements and evaluates care that is consistent with the overall admission through the post-discharge plan. S/he practices within accepted ethical and legal parameters of nursing. As an advanced neonatal nurse practitioner, s/he provides care and is a resource for newborns and neonates up to 30 days of age.
