Responsibilities

We are actively hiring for an Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room.

Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
Assess patient status throughout the perioperative episode of care.
Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.

Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
One year of OR and/or medical / surgical nursing experience preferred.
Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standings.

Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 of employment or documentation of current BLS certification.
Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.  
Successful completion of Pediatric Advance Life support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope of services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
Specialty certification in PerioperativeNursing is preferred.

Fort Lauderdale Heart & Rhythm Surgery Center is a one room OR that specializes in Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Pain Management. All RNs will be required to have experience in EP and Cardiac Cath Lab, as well as be cross trained to work Pre/Intra/Post operatively as well as trained for Moderate Sedation. The primary responsibility of this position is to: Provides nursing care to ensure the safety of the patient. Directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic & sterile techniques and procedures. To perform various tasks as an CVL circulator and recovery RN. Assumes responsibility that the Cath Lab is prepared room for the patient and procedure. Assist in transporting patient to Cath lab and checks patient record for appropriate pre-op preparation and procedures. Verifies that appropriate surgical prep is completed. Completes documentation for CVL records, and patient chart including medications and physician orders. Supervises and assists with the proper, safe positioning of the patient. Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts and documentation. Secures emergency equipment and supplies as needed. Provides assistance to teammates, physicians, and patient families and when applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned. Good communication skills that promote safe patient care.
