Description Duties Description This posting is for a Public Health Program Nurse (PHPN) Position in the Bureau of Perinatal, Reproductive, and Sexual Health (BPRASH). Under the direction of the Sexual Violence Response Unit Manager and in collaboration with the Associate Medical Director, the PHPN will serve as clinical subject matter expert and be responsible for overseeing the clinical activities withing the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Program and related initiatives to improve sexual assault care in hospitals, as described in the 2025 State of the State (SOTS). The PHPN will update program policy, procedures, and guidance based on clinical best practice and trauma-informed care. They will also be responsible for reviewing and approving all SAFE hospital program applications and training curricula submitted to the Department of Health for approval. The PHPN will collaborate with a newly established Training and Technical Assistance Center to provide training and technical assistance to hospitals regarding provide proper treatment of sexual assault patients in accordance with current laws, regulations, national guidelines, standards of care, and best practices; They will collaborate internally with the Division of Hospitals to monitor hospital compliance, participate in site monitoring visits, make recommendations to address barriers, and monitor progress and improvements within hospitals. The PHPN will engage with external stakeholders and clinicians to implement best practices to improve survivor care, and provide clinical support and information, technical assistance, and education to stakeholders and consumers on topics and initiatives related to sexual violence.
