Highland Care Center, a 320 bed Skilled Nursing Facility is currently seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our staff. We are a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility that is dedicated to helping our residents maximize their potential and live their lives to the fullest. Shifts available: Full-time day, evenings, nights and weekends.
Base pay is $33.85 per hour and evening and night shifts are eligible for a 10% shift differential.

Summary of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
Provide nursing care to residents as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards of nursing practice and regulations and as directed by the Director of Nursing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
- Assess and document resident progress in the medical record.
- Obtain changes in physician’s orders as indicated by resident’s progress or lack of progress
- Communicate pertinent information about resident condition and progress to charge nurses, supervisors and Director of Nursing, as indicated.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately as ordered by the physician and according to all facility policies and procedures.
- Assist in monitoring the inventory of medications, medical supplies and equipment to be sure adequate supplies of skin care products are on hand to meet the needs of residents.
- Participate in educational programs for residents and their family members relative to skin care when a resident is being discharged to home.
- Participate in Quality Improvement activities, as assigned.
Job Requirements of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
- Licensed Practical Nurse current state license in New York.
- At least one (1) year of Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
- Must have a current/active CPR certification.
- Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
