Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. One year psychiatric / neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and / or young adults in a long term hospital or residential setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current Texas professional Nurse License and current driver license.

To administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician. To ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies. Patients served include children, adolescents, and adults (18+) and geriatric (55+). Qualifications SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Management skills with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Able to develop and implement policies and procedures. Able to evaluate the performance of other staff members against the criteria in their job descriptions. EDUCATION : Required: BSN with supervisory experience. AND with 3 years hospital psych experience or 1 year supervisory experience LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : Current Texas Board of Nursing Licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing, CPR Certification, Texas Driver's License, and Handle With Care EXPERIENCE : Required: Minimum of three years experience in psychiatric, mental health, and/or rehabilitation nursing with a minimum of one year supervisor in psychiatric, mental; health, and/or rehabilitation nursing. Experience in evaluating staff against the criteria in their job descriptions preferred.
