OurRegistered Nurse(RN)position is under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the RN provides physical assessments of patients; implements treatment plans, evaluates response to treatment, provides complete documentation, administers medications as prescribed and provides health care education for patients and families. Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. One year psychiatric / neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and / or young adults in a long term hospital or residential setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current Texas professional Nurse License and current driver license.

POSITION SUMMARY: Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) , key responsibilities include but not limited to: Responds to incoming calls to the hospital to accommodate coordination for referrals/admissions. Will provide assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status. Responsible for making sure all inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented accurately in the computer system and that notes regarding referrals and upcoming admissions are documented on proper forms. Responsible to ensure all referral patient medical record information is completed and nursing and clinical staff are adequately apprised of the patient's condition/history. Responsible to ensure referral material is copied/distributed and prepared in unit charts as required. To assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations. To provide leadership and direction to mental health technicians. To contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team. To administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by Physician. Qualifications EDUCATION : Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : Current Texas State Registered Nurse License. Current CPR or BLS certification. Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date. EXPERIENCE : One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).
