About the Role:

United Health Services, the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier, is hiring Staff Registered Nurses to join our Stepdown Unit at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY.

Direct experience on a Med Surg unit is not required to join our team. We are currently hiring nurses who have recent bedside experience. Our Med Surg team treats very sick patients who require their nurses to have strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and excellent communication. Your patients may include those in need of negative pressure rooms, respiratory, post-ops, and more. Our nurses work 8-hour shifts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Care for patients as primary nurse
  • Monitoring vital signs and responding when necessary

Qualifications:

  • A valid NY RN license
  • 1 year bedside nursing experience
  • ACLS certification preferred

Unit Bio Known as R9, this unit is comprised of 36-beds. 24 beds designated to acute care medical surgical acuity, with medical telemetry capabilities caring for a wide variety of adults with acute and chronic medical conditions. 12 beds designated to general intermediate care (IMC) acuity. Our department thrives on collaboration, where every team member’s contribution is valued and respected.
