DEFINITION OF POSITION:

Performs a variety of technical duties to assist the surgeon, patient and or team with surgical procedures.

Working Conditions

Desired: Certification as Surgery Tech.

Includes but is not limited to surgical instruments and equipment, video equipment, and sterilizers.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills
Ability to provide care for the patient’s age-specific, cultural physical and psychosocial well being during the perioperative phase.

The Scrub Technician functions as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities Maintains aseptic technique throughout surgical procedure. Reports and breaks in technique to surgeon and circulator.
