Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 hour Day Shift; on call requirement
- Under the direction of the Nursing Director, the Surgical Tech First Assist (STFA) works in collaboration with the surgeon and health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Intraoperatively, the STFA practices at the direction of the surgeon.
- The tech shall assist the surgeon during surgical procedures in a manner as to make the procedure safe, effective, and smooth flowing while adhering to strict aseptic technique.
- The tech shall be responsible for the peri-operative care of the surgical patient by proficiently planning, implementing, and evaluating the preparation of the surgical cases.

Qualifications
Education Requirements
- Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
- 2 year/Associate Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Associate Degree
Experience
- 2-3 years of first assist in multiple specialties including robotics, vascular/endo-vascular, spine and total joints
Certification and Licensure
- An accredited Surgical Technician Program
- Certified Surgical First Assist
