Job Summary

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 hour Day Shift; on call requirement

Under the direction of the Nursing Director, the Surgical Tech First Assist (STFA) works in collaboration with the surgeon and health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Intraoperatively, the STFA practices at the direction of the surgeon.
The tech shall assist the surgeon during surgical procedures in a manner as to make the procedure safe, effective, and smooth flowing while adhering to strict aseptic technique.
The tech shall be responsible for the peri-operative care of the surgical patient by proficiently planning, implementing, and evaluating the preparation of the surgical cases.

The Surgical Technologist I is an integral member of the surgical team. The Technologist I works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Circulating Nurse. He/she functions in a scrub role, providing assistance to the operating surgeon and assistants. He/she also provides assistance in preparations for procedures and the clean-up afterwards. This individual works collaboratively with the entire surgical team. What you will do Functions in “scrub” role during the various surgical procedures and provides assistance in all areas of patient care.
