Job Responsibilities
- Working in contract role in a local acute facility for a designated time period (usually 10-15 weeks)
- Assisting patients in acute care facilities
- Ensuring the comfort and safety of patients by responding to their call lights and requests, and by reporting changes in their condition to the nursing supervisor
- Taking and documenting patients' vital signs throughout the day, performing point of care testing (to include glucose checks when authorized)
- Ensuring timely and accurate charting and documentation throughout the day
- Serving meals and helping patients with feeding and hydration throughout the day and with other activities of daily living
- Turning, positioning, and ambulating patients throughout the day and helping them to transport them within the facility
- Respecting and protecting confidential patient information
- Abiding by professional standards, Joint Commission standards, and facility policies, and complying with all federal, state, and local requirements
- Being accountable to follow and adhere to patient care plans
- Ensuring career and professional development by maintaining licensure, completing required training, and participating in educational opportunities
Qualifications and Skills
- Active, unencumbered Kentucky SRNA license
- Successful completion of state required training and/or state-sanctioned competency exam
- Minimum of 6 months of experience as a State Registered Nurse Aide or related role
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Immunizations as required
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
