UTHealth Houston’s Neuro-Oncology department is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our multidisciplinary Neuro-Oncology team. This position offers a dynamic blend of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, supporting adult patients with primary and metastatic brain and spinal cord tumors. The APP will round on the inpatient consult service daily with some clinic call escalations and coordination of care in the afternoons. The APP will collaborate closely with neuro-oncologists, neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, nurses, and other specialists to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, managing patient care throughout the disease trajectory, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging. The APP will prescribe medications, manage symptoms, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for care planning, and provide care coordination and discharge planning. Additionally, they will participate in tumor board conferences and team rounds and engage in quality improvement and continuing education activities. Internal medicine, oncology, or neuro APP background preferred but not required. Familiarity with neuro-oncology patient populations and treatments preferred. The work environment is a supportive academic and clinical team environment with opportunities for professional development and continuing education.
