Job Responsibilities

Working in contract role in a local acute facility for a designated time period (usually 10-15 weeks)
Delivering safe and effective patient care within your scope of practice in a PCU setting
Evaluating patients' charts, lab results, diagnostic tests, and medication histories
Maintaining up-to-date charting and ensuring accurate records of nursing interventions
Taking and monitoring vital signs and changes in condition
Administering medication and titrating doses as prescribed
Dressing wounds and ensuring proper wound care
Initiating IV lines and inserting/removing catheters
Coordinating with, and overseeing, nursing assistants and other support staff in the PCU
Communicating with patients and their loved ones about treatments, procedures, and continuity of care
Ensuring compliance with all facility policies and procedures and relevant standards of care in a PCU environment
Being accountable to follow and adhere to care plans for patients

Qualifications and Skills

Current Michigan state Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 8 months experience as a PCU RN
Completion of an approved nursing program (BSN preferred)
BLS and ACLS certification from an approved training provider
Telemetry certification may be required
Immunizations as needed based on facility and location
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Completion of a successful background check
