Provides appropriate pain/symptom management. Evaluates patient’s response to treatments/medications. Participates in personal and professional growth and development. Also participates in organization’s quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities. Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program. Three years’ nursing experience. Community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience is preferred. Currently licensed as an LPN/LVN in the state of practice. Complies with accepted professional standards and practice. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order. Understands philosophy of hospice concept. Also understands the needs of the terminally ill.

The Concierge is responsible for a variety of clinical functions, including but not limited to assisting the provider with care and treatment, laboratory testing, x-ray examinations, and other duties. The Concierge also performs patient registration, collection of payments, rooming, and patient discharge. All Concierges are expected to maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis. This position is a vital part of the urgent care team that works under the direction of the Site Manager and works closely with the provider and other clinical staff. Must demonstrate discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision-making; and a customer service attitude. Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow. Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level. Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider. Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior venipuncture competency check-off. Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow. If a medical assistant, then may perform injections with the appropriate competency checkoff. Assists provider with procedures to include, but not limited to maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and assists with ortho-glass application. Performs diagnostic x-rays and documents completion of radiology examinations within the licensed scope of practice as ordered and verified by the provider. Performs x-rays following established protocols and utilizes appropriate exposure factors for care and safety. Ensures images and applicable communication are transferred to radiology group for overread and assures all images have a report on file in the medical record.
