The Cath Lab team provides specialized cardiovascular care, supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Essential Functions: Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality care throughout cardiac catheterization and related procedures. Supervises, teaches, and delegates to other personnel in activities related to nursing care. Performs all aspects of cardiac cath lab patient care in an environment that prioritizes safety and minimizes risk of medical/healthcare errors. Completes initial and ongoing assessments, including hemodynamic monitoring and pre-/post-procedure evaluations. Formulates individualized plans of care; revises plans based on patient response to treatment; evaluates effectiveness daily. Assists with all Cath Lab procedures including diagnostic cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, device implantation support, vascular procedures, and emergency STEMI response. Administers medications, monitors sedation levels, and manages patient response during procedures. Documents nursing care accurately and timely. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, provider, patient, and family. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and education needs. Provides patient and family education related to procedures, recovery, medications, and follow-up care. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient, ensuring protection of patient rights. Assists in orientation, training, and competency development of staff as directed. Non-Essential Functions: Performs other duties as assigned. What we're looking for Current Registered Nurse to practice/work in the state of NC Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred 1 recent year of Cath Lab RN experience required. Preferred experience in multiple Cath Roles, such as circulator, scrub tech, and/or monitoring.
