Ensures compliance with current applicable federal, state and local regulations and facility policies and procedures. Reviews complaints and grievances made or filed by staff. Makes appropriate reports to the Director of Nursing as required or as necessary. Ensures an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., is always maintained on the unit to adequately meet the needs of the resident and notifies appropriate personnel of needs. Assists in the development of written preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident. Makes nursing/aide assignments as indicated. Encourages staff to attend and participate in outside training programs and schedules times as appropriate. Registered Nurse ( RN ) Supervisor Education and Experience: A nursing degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direct care in long-term care, restorative or geriatric settings as an Minimum one (1) year of experience as a nursing supervisor, preferably in a nursing home setting Current CPR Certification. Must also meet state requirements for relevant licensures or certifications and have no disciplinary action in effect against professional license.

Directs and supervises care provided by other nursing personnel. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care. Maintains knowledge of necessary documentation requirements . Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up, maintenance and use (i.e. monitors, infusion devices, drain devices, etc.). Maintains confidentiality and compliance with patient/resident rights, relating to all patient/resident/personnel information. Provides patient/resident/family/caregiver education as appropriate and/or directed. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit and facility policies . Assists in emergency situations. Performs documentation in compliance with facility policies and procedures PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF A CHARGE NURSE: Requires movement throughout entire facility. Serve as a role model for professional conduct, teamwork, and compassionate care. Qualifications: Current and unencumbered LPN license. Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
