Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse: Obtain changes in physician’s orders as indicated by resident’s progress or lack of progress Communicate pertinent information about resident condition and progress to charge nurses, supervisors and Director of Nursing, as indicated. Maintain clean, orderly treatment cart and restock treatment supplies. Follow Infection Control policies and procedures. Administer medications and treatments accurately as ordered by the physician and according to all facility policies and procedures Document pressure sore status weekly or more often as condition changes. Assist in monitoring the inventory of medications, medical supplies and equipment to be sure adequate supplies of skin care products are on hand to meet the needs of residents. Participate in educational programs for residents and their family members relative to skin care when a resident is being discharged to home. Participate in Quality Improvement activities, as assigned. Other special projects and duties, as assigned. Job Requirements of Registered Nurse: Registered Nurse current state license in Florida One (1) year related nursing experience preferred Must have a current/active CPR certification. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents. Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed. Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis. Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics. Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned. Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary. Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse. Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care. Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs. Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves. Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed. Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control. Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed. Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs. Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested. Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant: Current Nursing Assistant certification from state of Florida. Current/active CPR certification, preferred. At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred. Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
