Major Responsibilities Managing the staffing needs and providing supervision for nursing staff providing direct resident care to ensure quality resident care on the assigned unit. Assists in staff development. Responsible for providing direct resident care in accordance with established plans. Supervises Clinical Nurses and Nurse Assistants. Conduct and document a complete data collection of each resident's medical status upon admission and throughout the resident's course of treatment. Assist in the development and implementation of an individualized treatment plan for each assigned resident. Assist in recruiting and hiring nursing staff. Monitor compliance with resident record documentation requirements, as directed. Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage. Ensure compliance with resident rights policies and work with families and other staff, as needed, to resolve grievances. Must complete Preceptor Training. Provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results as well as the development of a successful management team. Qualifications Must possess a current, unencumbered, active state license to practice as an RN or LPN. Must have a minimum (3) years nursing experience preferred in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility. Ensure all telephone orders are confirmed with a written purchase order. 3. Ensure all purchase orders are properly prepared, signed and submitted as required in procurement policies and procedures. 4. Assist in preparing correspondence and claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc., and return to vendor as required. 5. Assist in developing methods for determining quantity of supplies and equipment required. 6. Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the purchasing agent concerning procurement procedures as directed 7. Ensure various departments are properly charged with supplies they have received for cost allocation purposes. 8. Deliver emergency supplies and equipment as directed. 9. Fill requisitions from departments for routine supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures. 10. Ensure that supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored. 11. Organize storage, issue and delivery of supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures. 12. Check invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, etc., with incoming merchandise. 13. Ensure inventory is updated as required, when receiving/issuing supplies and equipment. 14. Fill requisitions, as approved, and file in accordance with established policies. Qualifications Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent. Associate's degree preferred but not required. Minimum (1) one year of experience in the position, in a long-term care or other medical settings preferred.
