Description The Surgical Technologist will: Handle the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Demonstrate an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Possess the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program One (1) year of surgical technologist experience Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Certified Surgical Technologist (preferred) Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour. The hourly range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The rate for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. Overview Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT, is searching for a qualified Surgical Technologist to perform a wide variety of duties, assisting the circulator and surgeon in the care of the surgical patient. Maintains a safe and sterile environment for the patient at all times under the direction of qualified operating room personnel. There is an on-call component to this position. Compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care. This is a Full-Time position (PT available). Passes instruments, suture, sponges, etc. Picks/prepares supplies for planned cases. Prepares sterile field/supplies/instruments. Participate in activities to keep abreast of technical and legal developments. Sets up instruments/equipment in a standardized format. Uses restraints and padding correctly. Anticipates needs of surgeon. Applies retraction, cuts sutures, etc. as requested. Clears sterile field in aseptic, safe manner. Ensures non-disposable instruments and supplies are not discarded. Completes accurate sponge/needle/instrument counts. Qualifications HS diploma. Successful completion of Surgical Technologist Program.
