Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Qualification Requirements: At least five (5) years of experience directly related to occupational health. Shall have knowledge of applicable federal, State of California and local regulations, including workers' compensation laws. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or an accredited physician assistant program and a current license to practice as an Adult or Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (CA Board of Registered Nursing - https://www.rn.ca.gov) or Physician Assistant (Physician Assistant Board - https://www.pab.ca.gov/consumers/license_lookup.shtml) in the State of California are required; license must be free from disciplinary actions. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Certification in spirometry, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Certification in audiometry, and American Heart Association (AHA) Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) Shall have the ability to effectively consult with others and independently resolve a variety of complex problems as well as a strong understanding of technical processes, applicable safety regulations, and program/project management. Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. Shall have knowledge of additional occupational health fields such as industrial hygiene, health physics and occupational safety. Shall be able to sit at a desk and/or be on their feet and walking at least eight (8) hours a day. Subcontractor personnel shall be able to assume and maintain various postural positions including, but not limited to, kneeling, reaching, stooping, bending, crouching, and lifting. **Desired Qualifications ** Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse - Specialist or (COHN-S) certification. Have statistical analysis skills, the ability to interpret regulations, knowledge of the regulatory process and experience in monitoring regulatory developments. Position Overview The Medical Assistant shall provide clinical support services at LBNL’s employee occupational health clinic to ensure employee health, regulatory compliance and best EH&S practices. The Medical Assistant shall provide support for both front and back office activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, greeting patients, answering phone calls and emails, scheduling and rescheduling appointments for multiple health care providers, managing clinic calendars, extensive medical record handling, patient intakes and initial evaluations, provision of specialized services based upon reason for visit and referral to appropriate level of health care provider. Medical Assistant Qualification Requirements Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program with current certification as a Medical Assistant in the State of California, free from disciplinary action, and minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience.
