REGISTERED NURSE SUPERVISOR CI Head Nurse

GRADE 22 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Jessup, MD Main Purpose of Job This position is the supervisory level of work in the provision of directing nursing care at a Court Involved facility in a ward on a twenty-four hour basis or for several wards during one shift. This position supervises lower-level Registered Nurses and other assigned licensed and non-licensed nursing care staff. This position receives general supervision from a Registered Nurse Manager, CI, Assistant Director of Nursing, CI or Director of Nursing, CI. This position is assigned to day, evening, night or rotating shifts which may include weekends and holidays. This position is subject to call-in during emergencies and staffing shortages. The work may require long periods of standing, walking, bending and reaching. This position is evaluated by using the classification job evaluation methodology. This position is differentiated from the Registered Nurse Charge, CI in that this position is responsible for twenty-four hour supervision of a unit or is a shift supervisor for several wards and supervises the Registered Nurse Charge, CI, while the Registered Nurse Charge, CI who is responsible for one unit during an assigned shift. This position is differentiated from the Registered Nurse Manager, CI in that the Registered Nurse Manager plans and coordinates the provision of nursing care for a nursing division, the evening shift or the night shift and directly supervises the Registered Nurse Supervisors, CI. Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (RICA) - Rockville, Rockville, MD (Montgomery County) is a community-based public residential, clinical, and educational facility serving children and adolescents with severe emotional disabilities, located in Rockville, Maryland. Springfield Hospital Center, Sykesville, MD (Carroll County) is a regional psychiatric hospital operated by the State of Maryland, Maryland Department of Health, which is located on a picturesque campus in southern Carroll County. Springfield Hospital Center is one of the largest psychiatric hospitals in the State of Maryland that provides a wide range of clinical services for the treatment of patients with mental illnesses. Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD (Baltimore County) is a 375-bed complex that provides a broad spectrum of inpatient psychiatric services to adults and adolescents, as well as comprehensive residential psychiatric services to adults. The center is owned and operated by the State of Maryland, under the governance of the Behavioral Health Administration of the Department of Health. Thomas B. Finan Center, Cumberland, MD (Allegany County) is a multi-purpose psychiatric facility operating 88 beds, is a primary inpatient component of the Maryland Department of Health serving the citizens of Maryland. Specialized evaluation and treatment services are available for adult and geriatric psychiatric patients. Potomac Center, Hagerstown, MD (Washington County) is one of two state residential centers overseen by the Developmental Disabilities Administration. The Potomac Center is a State residential center that is responsible for providing needed services to people who have intellectual disabilities admitted to the facility while working to integrate into less restrictive settings in the community. Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT) Program , Hagerstown, MD (Washington County) , located within the Potomac Center campus, is a 32-bed licensed Forensic Residential Center that provides services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and court involvement within a safe and secure environment. The program provides assistance as they resolve their court involvement and work toward transitioning to a less secure environment. The SETT utilizes active treatment as well as providing evaluation, assessment and competency attainment education. Main Purpose of Job This recruitment is for multiple positions and shifts located throughout the State of Maryland. A Licensed Practical Nurse I Court Involved (CI) is the intermediate level of work performing practical nursing duties for the care, treatment, habilitation or rehabilitation of mentally ill, aged, physically ill or physically disabled patients; developmentally disabled clients; or clients attending clinics for preventive or treatment services. Employees in this classification do not have supervisory responsibility. Minimum Qualifications Education : Determined by the Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Practical Nurses. Experience : None.
