Role The Registered Nurse – Charge – Behavioral Health role assumes frontline leadership in the daily operations of the department and works collaboratively with departmental staff, physicians/advanced practice practitioners, hospital staff, pre-hospital providers and community agencies to provide oversight and direction for the delivery of safe patient and family centered care. Commonly treated diagnoses include: Depression Disruptive Behavior Disorders Emerging Psychotic Disorders Anxiety Disorders Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Substance Use Disorders Unit treatment and programming includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual and family therapy, occupational therapy interventions, and utilization of positive behavioral incentives and supports. Patients receive on-site academic tutoring and engage in recreational opportunities in the gym, and the outside playground and courtyard areas.
