Overview The Clinical Decision Unit is on the first floor of the Kelemen building. We are a locked unit and require a badge to enter or ring the doorbell to be let in. The Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) is a35-bed, single-room unit.The patients are typically here for observation or if needed to be admitted as an inpatient they will stay in CDU until a floor bed is available. Multidisciplinary rounds are done Monday – Friday. This involves the patient in their care and allows the team members to collaborate with the patient to give them the best possible care and appropriate discharge to home or other facilities. The Express Admit Unit (EXAU) is under the management of the CDU. There are 6-bed areas where the admitted patients stay until a floor bed is available. This gives them privacy and care while waiting for their room to be available. Both CDU and EXAU can have patients on telemetry for cardiac monitoring. Short Description The Lead CCT will work in collaboration with the unit leadership to promote a positive work environment by facilitating teamwork, coordinated patient care, unit initiatives and projects for non-licensed personal. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges. Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room. There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family. Education Requirements High School / GED License/Certification Requirements Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited Nursing Program 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role. At least one of the above qualifications/certifications must be met for hire.
