How you make a difference The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) provides psychiatric consultation, diagnostic, and treatment services to patients, including medication management and crisis intervention services, while adhering to established policy and procedure and state guidelines. They maintain documentation required by state or facility guidelines to demonstrate compliance with supervision requirements. Key Responsibilities Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, develops plans of care, and evaluates effectiveness of interventions, including medication management and crisis intervention services. Maintains thorough documentation in compliance with organization policies and procedures, state guidelines, and best practices, including medication education, seclusion/restraint use, infection control, and risk management. Provides individualized care sensitive to the age and developmental needs of each patient, and participates in on-call schedules and mandatory committees as required. Adheres to established formularies for therapeutic regimens and utilizes established procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while supporting standards of psychiatric care and providing input into committees and meetings as requested. Additional Details Minimum 4 shifts per month. Must have minimum 1 year experience as a psych NP for PRN roles Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program. Experience Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Psychiatric experience preferred and/or experience in a residential healthcare institution. Licenses/Certifications Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice highly desired. Must maintain CPR certification, and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required by contract. How you make a difference The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the health care delivery system within their assigned nursing unit. They collect health status data, diagnose patients, set goals, plan and implement care, and evaluate patient progress. The Nurse Supervisor also provides patient education and ensures that ancillary personnel are qualified to perform the services they provide. Key Responsibilities Review and ensure compliance of nursing plans, medical records, and referrals with policies and procedures. Monitor and facilitate progressive patient care through team approach and patient education. Assist DON in maintaining clinical skills of registered nurses and ensuring nursing actions are within scope of licensure. Identify and address potential problems, establish priorities, and propose corrective actions. Maintain unit cleanliness and coordinate patient care with other departments, while ensuring appropriate stock levels of medical supplies and equipment maintenance. Qualifications & Requirements Education Successful graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Experience Prefer a minimum of one-year clinical experience Licenses/Certifications Must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the State of employment. How you make a difference The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Key Responsibilities Conducts routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on-site. Adheres to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in-house resources for treatment. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while also reporting any concerns or questions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals. Provides input into facility mandatory committees as requested. Additional Details full time, day position, 10 hour shifts Qualifications & Requirements Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. Licenses/Certifications Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment. Must have and maintain current CPR certification. Key Responsibilities Directs and supervises nursing staff, ensuring adherence to licensure scope, policies, and procedures. Reviews and audits nursing care plans, medical records, and staff performance, providing coaching and reporting findings. Coordinates patient care with other departments and supports continuity of care across the facility. Assists in training, orientation, staff meetings, and maintaining unit cleanliness, safety, and professional standards.
