About this role The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies. What you bring to the table Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment. What you will do Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed. How you make a difference The Float Nurse is a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN) responsible for providing patient care in a Correctional Setting by assisting in the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They work under the supervision of RN(s) and provide patient education and activities within their demonstrated competencies. The Float Nurse is responsible for following the Nursing Practice Act and working collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Assists in patient assessment and planning of individual treatment programs while consulting with RNs and other staff as appropriate in accordance with established policies and procedures. Implements individualized treatment programs under the supervision of the Health Care Practitioner, including administering medications and obtaining diagnostic tests. Responds to emergencies and implements proper safety techniques and procedures.
