This casual position will be based at our Roseville clinic with potential for coverage at our Lino Lakes and Hugo clinics. This casual position will pick up shifts Monday - Friday between the hours of 6:30am - 6:15pm. This role requires availability to train 3-4 days per week for the first several week with the length of training time determined on experience level. In addition, after training is completed, we require availability of a minimum of 2 days/week to pick up shifts between the hours of 6am – 6pm. The Medical Assistants at North Suburban Family Physicians are responsible for a variety of duties including: Perform Functions That Support/provide Patient Care Patients are roomed according to rooming and/or clinic guidelines. Vital signs and other pertinent physical measurements are obtained and recorded accurately. Medication and clinical procedures are administered (according to authorized policy and demonstrating proficiency) and documented according to North Suburban Family Physicians policy. This may include DISCUS or AIMS assessment. Charts are reviewed for the presence of pertinent information relevant to today’s encounter. This may include Prepared Practice work as developed by the team. Needed and requested health educational materials are provided to the patient and documented. Patients and their records are handled in a private and confidential manner per North Suburban Family Physicians policies. Seek medical and/or nursing assistance when encountering an acutely ill patient or a patient with a changing condition. Exam rooms and treatment rooms are prepared for examination of the patient and set up for procedures. Patient is prepared for medical interventions. The exam/procedure room is prepared, and the provider is assisted as needed. Charts are prepared and station records maintained which may include the following: MSRs are checked for completion and routed appropriately. Lab, x-ray and miscellaneous forms are prepared when requested. Drug refills are processed according to clinic protocols. Station logs, (i.e., pap, pathology, etc.) are monitored as assigned. Prepare charts for patient appointments as indicated by the type of clinic visit and the reason for the appointment according to established practices and procedures. Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication within the clinic/location. Surgical Technologist

Job Overview Fairview Health Services is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room at our M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital location in Edina, MN . We’re offering an up to $9,000 sign-on bonus along with a generous relocation bonus up to $5,000 ! We currently have flexible shifts / hours available! As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room. Schedule : This position will be working .9 FTE (72 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day/evening/night shift. This position will also work every third weekend. About our Operating Room at Southdale: Our surgeries include, but are not limited to, Open Heart, Neuro, Orthopedic, Generals, Da Vinci, Cardiovascular, Cysto, Colorectal, Urology, OB, Specialty Eye Cases, ENT, Neuro and Spine Surgery. Occasional weeknight on-call and every third weekend call rotation with 30-minute response time. Staffed for 315 beds hospital wide with the OR and same-day surgery departments having a combined total of 24 rooms. We serve a diverse group of patients, mainly adults, averaging 20,000 cases per year. Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens. Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments. Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment. Following appropriate action in emergency situations. Required Qualifications: Complete one of the following by hire date: Military Surgical Assistant; OR LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant; OR Surgical Technologist training Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date) Preferred Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience Other Required Skills: Knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and cognitive developmental needs of population served.
