About the Unit This is a Weekend Program consisting of working 48 out of 52 weekends in various locations throughout the system as need arises. The weekend is defined as shifts between the hours of 3:00 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Monday. However, specific times may vary according to location and need. The Critical Care Unit (CCU) is an 18-bed mixed ICU managing adult surgical, trauma, neuro, medical, and cardiothoracic/vascular patients. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:2 and adjusted for acuity throughout the shift. We have residents and attendings present for both shifts to support continued medical care and treatment. We utilize IABP, CRRT, EEG-continuous monitoring, Acumen IQ, ICP monitoring, BIS monitoring, and TTM devices. About this Unit Acute Inpatient Rehab is a CARF accredited 18 bed unit. The unit specializes in patients that are diagnosed with CVA, SCI, TBI, amputations, ortho, cardiac, and debility. The average length of stay is 12-14 days. These patients have a medical and physical need, and must be able to participate in 3 hours of therapy daily. About Corewell Health South – Lakeland Hospitals The health system comprises three hospitals, an outpatient surgery center, a regional cancer center, rehabilitation centers, two long-term care residences, home care and hospice services, and 34 affiliate physician practice locations. We provide both inpatient and outpatient medical services throughout Southwest Michigan. Scope of Work The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. We are currently looking for a caregiver or two for our weekend On Call Program. Weekend On call starts at 5pm Friday evening, Continues through Saturday (all 24 hours), Sunday (All 24 hours) and concludes Monday morning at 9am. On Call is compensated with $150 dollars stipend for the entire weekend or can be split up into $25 for Friday, $50 for Saturday, $50 for Sunday, and $25 for Monday. There is a STRONG preference for individuals that can take the entire on call period. In addition to the the stipend you will also be paid for the shifts that you work at the standard shift rate.
