Description Of Position The Certified Nursing Assistant performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. They also assist the professional and technical nursing staff by performing any delegated duties, specialized procedures, and assists with care of seriously ill patient. SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse Responsibilities And Duties Demonstrates competency in use of technology and computers for patient charting and related functions. Provides physical patient care in a safe manner under the direction of the Licensed Nurse. Performs or assists patient with activities of daily living (showering, bathing, dressing, feeding, activity). Communicates abnormal variances of data (vital signs, pain, etc) to appropriate staff. Collects information regarding patient/patient condition: vital signs, intake and output, food intake. Consistently utilizes basic decision making skills to complete routine tasks. Participates in best practices in a consistent and positive manner; huddles, hourly rounding, bedside reporting, Service Excellence, and the use of the white boards. Collaborates with unit staff to provide coordinated patient care. Utilizes unit specific equipment competently. Competently performs unit specific procedures.
