Position Overview: The Nurse Scheduler generates, manages and updates master schedules while making adjustments as needed according to budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, call-ins, and pre-planned leaves of absence. Key Responsibilities: Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts Recommends new approaches and effective scheduling practices for continual improvements and efficiency in staffing. Keeping meticulous attendance records and assisting communicating if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or tardies. Communicate with Unit Managers and the Director of Nursing Services regarding floor orientation schedules for newly hired Care Team Members in the nursing department. Checking time clock punch records daily against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes. Signing time correction forms for events such as missing meal periods or forgetting to clock in/out. Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including but not limited to; weekend and holiday rotation and work the on-call schedule rotation. This position may require the occasional need to work the floor if a license is held for positions such as a QMA or CNA. Qualifications: Previous scheduling experience in a long-term care setting preferred. Active QMA and/or CNA license in good standing required.
